No kind of brain surgery designed to treat mental illness (psychosurgery) was even attempted for decades after that place served as a mental asylum, lobotomies weren’t invented until the 1930s, and “ice pick” lobotomies– the kind that go through the eye– didn’t exist before the 1940s. Just sayin’.
