Sleeping In Fear
A young child is so troubled by what they see in their room late at night, that it makes it impossible for them to ever sleep soundly in their own bed.
Here is a preview of the story.
“My bedroom was designed in a way that wardrobes framed my bed, which jutted out into the middle of the room. One night, I was awoken from deep sleep to find a woman sat on the side of my bed; I felt the depression of the bed where she sat, which woke me up. She had long, chocolate brown curly hair, which covered her face. She wore a thick puff-sleeved cotton blouse with a tan-colored suede skirt and matching waistcoat. She did not look at me, nor did she say anything; she just sat there. I tried to convince myself that she was a part of a dream that I had not entirely woken up from, but she did not disappear. Filled with fear, I managed to untangle the blankets from my feet and run to my parent’s room, screaming. I refused to sleep in that room for a week, but I could not shake the clear image of the woman.”
