House of Seven Gables
A listener shares their story of being an employee at a haunted location, and the spirit they believe followed them home, will ill intentions.
Here is a preview of the story.
“Back in the early 2000s, I worked at the House of the Seven Gables in Salem, Massachusetts. I loved the house, and I loved the job. Yes, there are ghosts. Lots of them, but most of them are harmless. There are a few pranksters, too. I ran into one that left me running for my life.
While working in the museum’s cafe, I was washing aprons and dish towels in the basement of the main house. This was my second year working there, so I had done this plenty of times. I had never felt anything or saw anything in the basement, so I did not mind doing this.
On this laundry run, I felt funky the moment I walked in. Something was just off. I did not feel like I was alone. Someone was watching me. I looked around and did not see anyone. Chalking it up to a random anxiety attack, I just took a deep breath and finished getting the laundry started.
I went back down into the basement to move the laundry to the dryer. The feeling was stronger, and I felt that whoever was watching me did not want me there.”
