It seems that almost every city has a haunted restaurant. A dining establishment with a dead customer or former owner that just wont seem to go away. Why is it that ghosts are so attracted to restaurants? Why do we hear so many ghost stories about these specific places of business more than others?
These are the questions that I ask myself every time I hear a ghost story about a haunted restaurant. In our pilot episode of “Back For Seconds”, we explored the story and depths of a haunted restaurant in Wichita, KS known as Doc’s Steakhouse. A location that has been home to some of the best beef in the mid-west for many years.
The current owner seems to feel that it may be the ghost of “Doc” himself haunting the restaurant. With reports from servers and staff unexplained noises and sites in the dining room, kitchen and basement. Doc’s seems to have something unexplained going on in it. Even an old picture that may show the ghost of Doc checking in on the restaurant years after he left it.
We also venture into the basement of this historic eatery to see what may be hiding behind a walk in cooler and under a set of stairs. An area that many report hearing noises come from. What we find, may be a key piece of evidence or relic from the Doc’s Steakhouse’ past.
