Hand Through The Curtains

What do you do as a child when an unexplained hand comes out from behind the window curtains, yet no human is standing there?

Here is a preview of the story.
We got into position and sang the first line, then all 4 of us stopped stock-still. We turned to face the closet, and we stood that way for at least 5 seconds, staring as a bone white child’s hand-stretched towards us through the slit in the closet curtains. We went from utter stillness to pandemonium as we all took off running past the closet and out the door then down the stairs.

We babbled our story out to our collective parents, and our parents basically told us we must have imagined it. Since we were kids, we basically just went on with life.
