“It was dusk when we made our way on our bikes down to the creek, which was roughly a mile from where I lived, the black and recently set sun orange sky and autumn breeze set the tone for the evening with a chill that ran through all 3 of us. We arrived at the entrance to the trails leading to the supposed burial ground, our path carved by the tracks other teenagers riding four-wheelers and dirt bikes over the years, so we continued through the woods until we came to where we were supposed to cross the creek to get to the area where the burial ground was said to be and discovered that the creek was flooded so we couldn’t cross.”
