Beyond Nightmares
What do you do when you discover that your nightmares are more than just figments of your imagination?
“My mom would chalk up my nightmares to whatever I had been eating the night before, claiming it was because I ate to close to bedtime. Every time I woke up from a nightmare, I would find myself on my back with my arms crossed over my chest, almost as if I had been fighting off the terror in my sleep to protect myself.
These nightmares went on for about three months of every night without fail, they eventually got so bad I started to lose weight, and my eyes sunk into my face. That is where my mom finally admitted something might be wrong.”
