Where did a mysterious crucifix come from, and what powers does it hold?

“Much to my surprise, the crucifix was not in the dumped canister contents. I carefully combed through the contents at least three times. I did not find the crucifix. This happened to me about seven years ago. To this day, the crucifix has not reappeared inside my house. I am grateful for that. I asked a Roman Catholic Priest friend about the incident. His words to me were, “Some articles carry a curse. You don’t know exactly where that crucifix had been or who owned it before you.” I did not buy this crucifix.”
